DAY 01: AGARTALA (TRIPURA)

Today arrive at Agartala Airport, received and transferred to hotel (15kms / 30 min), check into hotel and after refreshment visit Lakshmi Mandir, Ujjayanta Palace, Jagannath temple and local markets where you can find the best bamboo handicraft by expert craftsmen.

Evening at leisure and overnight.

DAY 02: AGARTALA – UDAIPUR – AGARTALA (TRIPURA)

Today after breakfast we will drive to Udaipur (50kms / 02 hrs drive), enroute we will visit Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary. On reaching Udaipur visit Matabari temple, Kali temple bordering Bangladesh, then we will proceed to Mela Ghar to visit Neer Mahal.

Back drive to Agartala and overnight stay.

DAY 03: AGARTALA - SILCHAR (ASSAM)

Today after breakfast drive to Silchar (310kms/08 hrs drive),

Overnight stay at Silchar.

DAY 04: SILCHAR - AIZAWL (MIZORAM)

Today after breakfast drive to Aizawl (175kms / 06 hrs drive), reach Aizawl, and check into hotel, later visit the Aizawl city viewpoint and later visit Bara bazaar of Aizawl.

Overnight stay in Aizawl. (Silchar would be a night halt as driving from Agartala to Aizawl is very long and hectic)

DAY 05: AIZAWL (MIZORAM)

Today after breakfast visit State Museum, Mizo Modal village and later drive to visit the Vantawng Falls. While returning back visit a typical Mizo tribal village enroute. Evening free at leisure and overnight stay.

DAY 06: AIWAWL - SILCHAR (ASSAM)

Drive back to Silchar, today visit a typical Rengma Naga village in the middle of Silchar town, evening at leisure.

DAY 07: SILCHAR - SHILLONG (MEGHALAYA)

Today after breakfast, drive to Shillong (280kms/9hrs). Reach Shillong and check into hotel. Overnight at Shillong.

Shillong is the capital and hill station of Meghalaya, also known as "The Abode of Clouds", one of the smallest states in India. It is the headquarters of the East Khasi Hills district and is situated at an average altitude of 4,908 feet above sea level, with the highest point being Shillong Peak at 6,449 feet. Shillong is the 330th most populous city in India with population of 143,007 according to the 2011 census. It is said that the rolling hills around the town reminded the European settlers of Scotland. Hence, they would also refer to it as the "Scotland of the East".

DAY 08: SHILLONG – CHERRAPUNJEE – SHILLONG (MEGHALAYA)

Today after breakfast we set to explore Shillong and Cherrapunjee (56kms/ 02 hrs drive), we will visit the Elephant falls and the drive further to Cherrapunjee, at Cherrapunjee we visit the Nohkalikai Falls (the fourth highest falls in the world), Mawsmai Cave, Danthlen Falls and Krem Falls. After exploring for the day, we will drive back to Shillong and overnight stay.

DAY 09: SHILLONG – MAWLYNNONG – SHILLONG (MEGHALAYA)

Today after breakfast, we drive to Mawllynnong (110kms / 02 ½ hrs drive), explore the village, also trek for 10 min to visit the Single Decker Living Root Bridge in Riwai village, back to Shillong and overnight stay.

Mawlynnong/Mawlynnong Village located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, also referred as ‘God's own garden’ has won the acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. The village known for its cleanliness is located around 90kms from Shillong and is a community based eco-tourism initiative. The community has made collective effort to maintain the ambience of a clean village. The village offers picturesque natural beauty, a trek to the living root bridge at a neighbouring village Riwai. The village also offers a sight of natural balancing rock, a strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock.

The adage "Neighbours envy, owners pride' is apt for Mawlynnong as it has earned the distinction of being one of the cleanest villages in Asia, a fact that every Mawlynnong villager is proud of and other villagers are envy of.

The village is quite pretty, especially in the monsoons when there is lush greenery all around, with waterfalls paving the way to small streams and abundance of flowering orchids dangling from the trees and hedges add to the beauty of the village.

DAY 10: SHILLONG – NAMERI/TEZPUR

Today after breakfast, drive to Nameri/Tezpur (290kms/7hrs). Evening at leisure.

DAY 11: NAMERI – DIRANG (ARUNACHAL PRADESH)

Today after breakfast we will drive to Dirang (190kms/10hrs drive), Enroute stop at TIPPI Orchid Research Centre. On reach Dirang we will visit Dirang Dzong, check into hotel and if time permits we will visit a Monpa village.

Overnight in Dirang.

DAY 12: DIRANG – TAWANG (ARUNACHAL PRADESH)

Today after breakfast we visit the Dirang Monastery and then we proceed for Tawang (160kms/09 hrs drive), enroute we will visit Sela Lake at Sela Pass (13476 ft), Jaswant Ghar and Nunarang Falls (also known as Jung Falls), reach Tawang and check into hotel and overnight stay.

Arrival time in Tawang approx. would be 6:00 – 7:00 PM.

TAWANG:
The name TAWANG derives from some bearings on surroundings. But people's interpretation is that the name TAWANG was given by Mera Lama in the 17th century. One can reach Tawang from other parts of the country via Guwahati and Tezpur in Assam. From Guwahati (Assam) or Tezpur (Assam), one has to go to Bhalukpong in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh and from there via Bomdila and Sela Pass one can go to Tawang by road.

DAY 13: TAWANG (ARUNACHAL PRADESH)

Today after breakfast we will go for a full excursion in Tawang and in and around, we will visit the Tawang War Memorial, Urgelling Monastery, Ani Gompa and if time permits we will visit Tawang local market. Evening back to Hotel and overnight stay.

DAY 14: TAWANG – BOMDILA (ARUNACHAL PRADESH)

Today after an early breakfast we drive to Bomdila (195kms/08 hrs drive), reach Bomdila and visit Bomdila Monastery and Bomdila Point, check into hotel and evening at leisure.

DAY 15: BOMDILA - KAZIRANGA (ASSAM)

Today explore the local sightseeing in Kohima and drive to Kaziranga (235kms/ 05 1/2 hrs drive), reach Kaziranga and check into hotel and overnight stay.

KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK:
Kaziranga National Park spreads over an area of 860 square kilometres in the flood prone plains of the Brahmaputra, lying in the Northeastern corner of India. The habitat is a perfect mosaic of deciduous jungle with cane groves, tall elephant grass, dotted with numerous marshes and shallow water pools locally called beels with swaths of lush green carpets of short grasses around them. The Diphaloo and Bhengrai are the main contributing rivers of these beels though the vast expanded tract is interested with numerous small streams.

Kaziranga declared as a National Park in 1974, is the symbol of most remarkable achievements in the conservation and protection of wildlife, and it was inscribed as a World Heritage Site on 06.12.1985 by UNESCO under UN Convention, and one of the five Natural World Heritage sites considering the natural criteria. After that Kaziranga National Park was declared as a Tiger Reserve on 2007.

DAY 16: KAZIRANGA (ASSAM)

Today you will go for safaris and elephant ride inside the national park. Early morning go for an Elephant ride ( timing 5:00 AM/ 06:00 AM/ 7:00 AM) then return back to the lodge and after breakfast go for a Jeep Safari (timing 8:00 AM / 9:00 AM) for 03 hrs, after the safari come back to lodge. After lunch and refreshment go for another Jeep Safari in the Western/ Central range of the park (timing 2:00AM / 3:00 AM) for 02 ½ hrs (also depending on the sunset as in winters the sun sets early in Northeast India), evening at leisure.

DAY 17: KAZIRANGA – MAJULI – JORHAT (ASSAM)

Today after breakfast we will drive to MAJULI (110kms/02 hrs drive & 01hrs on ferry), Explore Majuli, and drive back to Jorhat. Check in Jorhat and overnight stay.

MAJULI:

The World’s largest inhabited River Island, the holy place of Vaishnavaites Religion and Culture, the place of assimilation of different races and tribe is Majuli. The geographical location natural environment, richness in archaeological wealth, and biodiversity denote Majuli a unique identity. Majuli is a sub-division of Jorhat district, Assam. Towards the north of Majuli Lakhimpur, Dhemaji towards east Sivasagar, towards south Golaghat and Sonitpur district is situated. Located in the Brahmaputra River, Majuli covers an area of 422sqkm and is accessible by ferry from Nimati Ghat, Jorhat. Nimati Ghat in Jorhat serves as the major point from where ferries to the Majuli Island can be boarded.

 

 



DAY 18: JORHAT – KOHIMA (NAGALAND)

Today after breakfast, drive to Kohima (250kms/6hrs). Check into hotel and after refreshment explore the Kohima War Memorial and local market. Evening at leisure.

DAY 19: KOHIMA (NAGALAND)

Today explore the Kohima Museum, Emporium, Angami villages. Later we will drive to Khonoma village (20kms) and explore the tribal life of the Angami Tribes and back to Kohima and overnight stay.

KHONOMA:
Khonoma village has been declared as the first “Green village in India because of the initiative taken by the village to stop hunting, logging, and forest fire. The village has taken an odd step by declaring 27sqkms of its territory as Khonoma Nature Conservation and Tragopan Sanctuary (KNCTS). At Khonoma you will find Culture, History, and Nature intact together. As we go through the village we will see ceremonial gates, morung, cairn circles, forts, historical sites, age group house, meet local craftsmen weaving shawls and cane basket.

ANGAMI NAGAS:
The Angami’s are Naga tribe native to Nagaland state in North-East India. The Angami Nagas are hill people depending on cultivation and livestock rearing. The Angamis are known for terraced wet-rice cultivation; because of this labor-intensive cultivation, land is the most important form of property among them. They are one of the only two groups of Nagas out of the seventeen who practice wet-rice cultivation on terraces made on the hill slopes. They are known for the Sekrenyi celebrations every February. The Sekrenyi festival falls on the 25th day of the Angami month of Keizi. It is a celebration of purification accompanied with feasting and singing. This Angamis were traditionally warriors.

 

 



DAY 20: KOHIMA – IMPHAL (MANIPUR)

Today after breakfast, drive to Imphal (150kms/5hrs). Evening at Leisure. Overnight at Imphal. If time permits explore the Ima Market, Govindajee Temple and Kangla Fort.

 

 



DAY 21: IMPHAL (MANIPUR)

Today after breakfast, we will drive to Moirang to explore the Loktak lake and Keibul Lamjao national Park (famous for the rare dancing dear). Also explore the Japanese War Memorial, INA museum, Red Hill – a memorial of Japanese Army later drive back to Imphal.

After refreshment and leisure and overnight stay.

 

 



DAY 22: IMPHAL – AIRPORT (MANIPUR)

Today after breakfast, drive to Imphal Airport for your further destinations.

• We have not categorized rates as Budget, Standard, Deluxe and Luxury, as we have Budget and Standard hotels in Northeast India and few Deluxe hotels and there is no Luxury Hotels as such, we try to give a clear picture of the hotels we used and categorize them so that expectations are not high when clients travels here. So in some places the room category differs the price where good hotels are not available.

• For wildlife itineraries, we have added the minimum activities that are required to cover respective area, if any clients would mind to change the activities then the itinerary can be customized accordingly.

• Hotels in Arunachal Pradesh are Non-star category

• Restricted Area Permit is required to enter Arunachal Pradesh.

• Road condition in Arunachal Pradesh is not good including some parts of Assam.

• We avoid taking tours in Monsoon Season (June, July and August) however, some places in Northeast are best during this season.

• Guest with adventurous mind should travel to Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and some parts of Northeast India.

• In this region there are no relevance between the distance and time travelling as it depends upon the conditions of roads and congestion of traffic.
